Woolwax™is the thickest and most wash-off resistant lanolin based undercoating available. Woolwax™ has almost no smell.
Woolwax™is the perfect corrosion inhibitor, penetrant and lubricant for almost any application. Works great to prevent rust on automobiles, hinges, garage door tracks. snow throwers, any outdoor power equipment. Woolwax™is excellent for chains as it will migrate into the inner pins to provide long term protection.
Most penetrants and lubricants are very thin and made primarily of solvents (alcohol, mineral spirits, etc.). That's not necessarily a bad thing, as they creep down very quickly to the desired area, do their thing (unfreeze a bolt, etc.), and then evaporate. Woolwax™ on the other hand has no solvents. It will take Woolwax™ longer to creep down where it needs to go, because it is so thick, but it will get there. The difference is that Woolwax™will not evaporate and will provide indefinite protection (years) in an enclosed environment that is shielded from the elements.
