A handmade soap bar made by using the cold-processed soap method. These bars have been curing for at least 6 weeks before listing. Curing in a room with an air dehumidifier to ensure the durability and create a long-lasting bar of soap. I do not wrap a bar until it is sold, meaning that it will continue to cure and become even more durable the longer that it sits.
The objective when formulating any recipe is to produce a well balanced soap that will leave the skin feeling clean and fresh without drying it out. This is a simple recipe and quite gentle. This particular batch was scented using a Fragrance Oil labeled " Lime".
The vast majority of this soap is made using Beef Tallow. The only other oil used is a small amount of Fragrance Oil to scent the batch. On it's own, Beef Tallow is a very well balanced ingredient, which makes it possible to create a simple and gentle bar of soap using just Beef Tallow. Aloe Vera harvested from the garden is added to the hydrosol water which is distilled using fragrant herbs and flowers. I planted a large garden full of rosemary , mints, roses, and other fragrant herbs for just this purpose. The Idea is to infuse the soap with as many natural fragrances and benefits for our hair and skin as we are able, but organic and all natural.
A small amount of Citric Acid is added because I found that it enhanced the natural scent of the fragrance in the hydrosol water, and it prevents soap scum.
In conclusion, this soap is incredibly simple, natural and basic, yet it is well balanced. It should leave us feeling clean and fresh without drying out our skin or hair.
Each individual bar weighs around 5.5oz. They are big bars, hand cut out of a rectangular soap loaf. I have beveled all of the edges and corners so that they fit smoothly in one's hand. Carefully packaged, I try (and mostly achieve) posting your package the same day you order it, assuming the post office is open and that I receive the order before 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Also some days are busier than others.
