- Tangram City, designed by Uwe Rosenberg, is a very accessible strategy game where players act as city planners. The aim is to create a balance between urbanization (black tiles) and nature (green tiles) on their city board. The dots are marked on each handle according to the largest rectangle created with these tiles, reflecting successful urban planning. Players must also strategically manage the distribution of green spaces to maximize their score and add a level of tactics and thinking to each decision.
- The game consists of 5 regular rounds and a final 6th Handle that has slightly different rules. Each round 1. 4 cards are distributed regardless of the number of players. 2. The cards are played, starting with the card visible in the middle. 3. Each player selects the appropriate city tile as a whole and places it on his city board in compliance with the placement rules. 4. Once everyone has placed the corresponding tile, the next card is played.
- Players are not allowed to place tiles, but they cannot place them later. After all 4 cards of a round have been played, each player takes one of their fountain tiles and places them on their game board. Then players continue with the intermediate counting of the game. Each player determines the largest rectangle fully built on their tray. Players earn as many points as the rectangle box contains. After that, each player counts the number of fields in their city, built entirely with black and green tiles and adjust their marker accordingly on the balance scale before moving on to the next game.
- After playing the 5 regular rounds, only 3 cards are left in the package. Display these cards in the middle of the table. Then all players place these 3 last city stones at the same time on their city board as well as their last fontaine brick. Then perform a final count without forgetting the bonus points: 15 points for the player who has fully built the grid with 7 x 7 squares. From 0 to 20 points, depending on the city and nature balance of your city. The player with the highest score wins the game. When equal, players share victory.
