- The stretcher frame strips: the stretcher bars are made of largely knot-free spruce wood and therefore stable and low torsion. The profile of the stretcher frame has the typical outer bead that prevents the canvas from resting on the stretcher frame wood, and thus allows an even colour application. The profile of the stretcher frame has a height of 17 mm and a width of 26 mm, smaller formats have a profile of 15 x 25 mm (H x W).
- The canvas fabric: the stretcher frames are covered with fine cotton fabric in a weight of ± 280 g/m². The canvas cloth is pre-primed twice ready to paint. The Gesso universal primer is ideal for painting with acrylic paints and oil paints. The painting cloth is made in Italian double fold and therefore stapled exclusively on the back, so that the pages can be painted without restriction.

Art-Star University canvases, time for you, stretcher frame for creative beginners. Our Art-Star stretcher frames are designed for those who just want to get started. The canvas is pre-primed and stretched on a stretcher frame. You can paint the stretched stretcher frames with all standard colours. The Gesso universal primer used is ideal for acrylic paints, gouache and oil paints. The stretcher frames are traditionally made with the typical outer bead, which prevents the canvas from resting on the stretcher frame wood and thus allows an even colour application. The functional stretcher frame construction also offers the possibility to adjust the tension of the canvas by wedging with the included wooden wedges as required. All you need is brushes and paints.
