I tried in on the front panel of the armrest on a couch. My cats tried scratching a couple of times but gave up. Their claws partially punctured the plastic but did not further damage the fabric.

One of my cats scratches walls and doors. I use this in many places, including on a wood ledge that could cause injury if he jumped up and slid off. I also use it on the sides of our pleather couch. It works great, but be forewarned that if you use it on any walls, when you take it off, it will damage the wall and peel the paint off. The sticky tape is extremely strong. Eventually the exterior does wear away, which is how I discovered it damages the walls pretty badly. I was going to put on a fresh sheet. When I began gently pulling it, the paint and some of the cardboard in the sheet rock came with it. I won?t use this on walls anymore, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I use scat mats and sisal wall scratchers now in the areas he likes to scratch on the walls. Both work great. I do still use the tape on the interior bottom of my bedroom door, the stairwell ledge, and on the sides of the couch. It?s easy to cut and fit in any area you want to use it.

I have the most prick headed cats that are known to man. They wake up every day with the mission to destroy all things good in my home. I got these little sticky things and while they?re not cute, they are clear and as inconspicuous as you they can be. The only parts of my couch that my cats have ruined was the parts I didn?t put a sticky on. They come with a lot of sticky mats and they?re pretty large too. I?d recommend. If it works for mine, it will 100% work for yours.

I've only seen my cat try to claw at one of her usual spots once and it didn't long for her to figure out she couldn't get that spot. One drawback is the random things that get stuck. For instance, the tinsel from one of the cat toys. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with it.

Our 5 cats have been doing some damage to the corner of our sofa and a lounge chair. We've tried sprays, mats, posts, discipline, etc. to stop them without success. Vet suggested this product. Well... Fairly easy to cut and apply and visually kind of melted in for a few weeks. Now turning brownish in color, so obvious from across the room. Also, after about a week, it did not deter the cats. In fact, they started walking on it (on the arm of sofa) like a game and then began tearing at it. We worried they might get it stuck to their paws, try to lick it off, and potentially choke, so we tried to removed it. We worked slowly, but in the end, it tore the woven fabric and now the corner of the sofa/arm look worse than ever. Would not recommend to others for that reason alone!

It?s been reviewed that both sides of this are very sticky, but I?ll just reiterate, they are VERY sticky. I bought this to put on the little couch I bought for my cat. She had been scratching it so much she was putting a hole in it, so I got this to keep her from doing it. In protest, she decided to spin the couch around and the side of her little couch I put the protector on was touching the wall. It was only a couple of hours that it was against the wall, but it tore chunks out of my wall. She hasn?t scratched at her little couch, so the product does seem to do what it?s supposed to do, but if I had known it would have been quite as sticky as it is, I would not have purchased it. The stickiness is somewhere in between packing tape and duct tape.

My biggest problem I have with this product is that it is falsely advertised. Let me be very clear, these are NOT ANTI CAT SCRATCH FURNITURE PROTECTORS. And you WILL NOT RECEIVE A CORNER COUCH PROTECTOR. This is ACTUALLY double sided TAPE FOR CAT TRAINING. It is sticky on both sides so that the cat will be uncomfortable and, hopefully, not claw that spot on the chair. It is the SAME THICKNESS AS SCOTCH TAPE folks. Does NOT protect your furniture. Simply a training tool. ALSO FALSELY ADVERTISED as being made of NEW materials that can easily be removed, leaving no residue behind on furniture. WARNING-this product should NOT be used on leather or faux leather furniture. Unfortunately, I got it for my leather chair. And I did use it before I found this out. However, there is ONE good thing about this product. It IS transparent. (People, it is not white. Ya gotta peel the backing off. It?s just the backing. Peel it off.) So, what I?m going to do is, stick a piece of clear poster frame plastic over it. I thought about using thick, clear vinyl but the cats will destroy that and then I?ll have that permanently stuck to my chair as well. So, in closing, what you actually get here is some double sided tape folks. And it?s not bad quality, and it?s a pretty good value too, so I don?t know why they would advertise this product under false pretenses. Good luck all!UPDATE: Here we are approximately 8 months later, I just peeled it off and just LOOK at what it did to my chair. Like, OMG it destroyed it.
